The Global Senior Inventory Accountant is part of the Global Inventory Team, which is part of the Global Accounting Team covering revenue, receivables, payables, inventory and general accounting. Inventory is the largest single line item of the LS&Co. balance sheet, and this role contributes to accuracy and controls over that value. As such, the opportunity for impact in the organization is tremendous.
About the Job
Prepare and review journal entries (in-transit, duty, ad hoc); calculate and monitor inventory reserves, including lower of cost or market (LCM) and shrink.
Provide comprehensive reporting on inventory activities across stores and distribution centers.
Complete general ledger account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
Serve as inventory accounting contact for finance and operations partners, reviewing data and operations for accuracy, compliance, and audit support.
Assist with internal and external audits by supplying documentation, thorough analysis, and accurate responses to queries.
Lead or support process improvement projects, utilizing advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to optimize accounting workflows.
Analyze large volumes of complex data to identify trends, anomalies, and guide business decisions.
Apply inventory accounting expertise in reconciliation, valuation, reporting, capitalization, amortization, and clearing of GL accounts.
About You
Bachelor’s degree required; CPA preferred.
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
Expertise with Excel (pivot tables, xlookups, sumifs, nested formulas); experience with Word, and Access.
Expertise with end-to-end systems and processes with experience in SAP Fiori, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), GT Nexus, and Blackline.
Excellent knowledge of accounting procedures, principles, and GAAP requirements.
Advanced analytical skills to identify inventory issues, suggest solutions, and analyze trends.
Capability to build relationships and collaborate across teams.
Manage competing priorities and deadlines across multiple time zones with flexibility.
Communicate fluently in English and Spanish to foster collaboration and build productive relationships internally and externally.
