Job Description:

An exciting opportunity for a talented and skilled Senior International Tax Manager to business partner, providing valued support and help to lift our Tax offering.

Based in India - Bengaluru as part of our global Tax team and supporting our Asia unit, you will provide proactive international tax advice across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, China and Hong Kong.

Role summary:

You will be accountable for identifying and managing tax risks, providing commercially practical tax advice, coordinating local tax expertise, and ensuring transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

The role does not require deep technical expertise in every local jurisdiction; it requires strong international tax judgement, issue-spotting, ability to challenge advice, and disciplined management of advisors, stakeholders and workload.

With background from multinational environment, you should be comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions, including areas such as permanent establishment risk, withholding tax, transfer pricing and indirect taxes.,

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide Clear, practical and actionable international tax advice including cross border transactions and Permanent Establishment matters.
2. Collaborate with Legal and Commercial teams to review contracts and agreements.
3. Engage and manage stakeholders as a trusted tax specialist.
4. Resolve Tax Controversy & Manage Tax Risk
5. Participate in Tax Strategy & Planning
6. Conduct Training & Knowledge Sharing sessions
7. Transaction Advisory & Contract Review
8. Tax Technology & Automation

Cross border tax advice

• Deliver clear, actionable advice on cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on withholding tax and Permanent Establishment matters, and legislative changes.

Transaction Advisory & Contract Review:

• Provide expert tax input on contracts and agreements to ensure tax-efficient structuring and compliance.
• Collaborate with legal and commercial teams to review terms and conditions from a tax perspective.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory:

• Act as a trusted advisor to business units, keeping them informed of tax developments and implications.
• Review and support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation, tax returns, and related filings.
• Support the tax centre of excellence team, when required to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax figures in both local statutory accounts and group consolidated reports.

Tax Controversy & Risk Management:

• Lead responses to tax audits, notices, refund claims, and appeals by working closely with local consultants and local finance teams.
• Provide technical insights and manage interactions with tax authorities to resolve disputes effectively

Tax Strategy & Planning:

• Develop and implement tax-efficient structures and strategies in collaboration with Group Tax and Regional Finance.
• Support global tax initiatives

Training & Knowledge Sharing:

• Conduct regular tax awareness sessions and training for finance and business teams.
• Promote a culture of tax compliance and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Tax Technology & Automation:

• Collaborate with internal teams to drive tax process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Support the implementation of digital tools to enhance tax reporting and compliance efficiency

Candidate Profile / Requirements

• Recognised professional qualification: Qualified chartered accountant
• 10–12+ years’ relevant tax experience, including significant international/corporate tax exposure.
• Big 4 or major advisory firm experience, or comparable in-house multinational tax experience.
• Experience working across multiple jurisdictions, ideally Asia or emerging markets.
• Strong technical grounding in corporate tax, withholding tax, PE and treaty analysis.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to delegate, prioritise, manage workload transparently and escalate early.
