What You'll Do

Shape the employee engagement strategy for Telstra Enterprise

You'll lead the development and delivery of our employee communications and engagement approach, using insights, data and employee feedback to strengthen connection, culture and performance.

You'll help leaders understand what matters most to employees and turn those insights into meaningful action.

Create stories people actually want to read

You'll translate complex strategies, transformation programs and business priorities into clear, human and engaging communications.

From executive messages and culture campaigns to videos, events and digital content, you'll find creative ways to help employees connect strategy to action.

Lead campaigns that move the needle

You'll design and deliver high-impact internal engagement campaigns and employee experiences that build understanding, inspire action and strengthen culture. You’ll use data, AI and insights to set specific goals, inform activity and measure impact.

This includes:

  • Leadership communications
  • Team-wide engagement campaigns
  • Town halls and employee events (travel required)
  • Change and transformation communications
  • Recognition programs
  • Employee experience initiatives
  • Culture and inclusion campaigns

Partner with senior leaders

You'll work closely with outstanding executives and leaders across Telstra Enterprise, helping them become more effective communicators and storytellers.

You'll provide strategic advice, coaching and communication support for some of our most important business priorities.

Reinvent how we communicate

You'll own and maximise our Telstra Enterprise employee communication channels, finding the best ways to reach, engage and connect people.

You'll also explore how emerging technologies, including AI, can help us create better experiences, stronger engagement and more effective communications.

Work inside the business

This role sits within Telstra Enterprise, giving you the opportunity to shape the employee experience of thousands of people. You’ll also engage with and stay connected to Telstra’s central communications and employee engagement teams, ensuring our Telstra Enterprise activity is well connected with the broader Telstra business.

What success looks like

After 12 months, you've:

  • Increased employee understanding of our strategy and priorities.
  • Improved engagement across key employee metrics.
  • Built trusted relationships with leaders across the business.
  • Delivered campaigns and experiences people actually talk about.
  • Strengthened connection between employees, leaders and the Telstra Enterprise strategy.
  • Support leaders to build meaningful narratives and connections for their teams.
  • Created storytelling that helps employees understand not just what we're doing, but why it matters.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of communication channels (SharePoint experiences; Viva and other engagement platforms).
  • Apply AI-enabled approaches to improve communication effectiveness, employee engagement and operational efficiency.

About You

You might be a deeply experienced communications leader looking for your next challenge. Or you might be an ambitious emerging communications, content or engagement professional ready to step into a role with genuine ownership and visibility.

Your background could be internal communications, employee experience or change leader – it could be in corporate affairs or public relations - or perhaps you’re a content creator, journalist or marketer.

If you've built audiences, led campaigns, created standout content (not just briefed agencies to do it), shaped culture, driven engagement or helped bring strategies to life, we want to hear your story.

You'll bring:

  • Experience developing and delivering communication, engagement or change strategies
  • Outstanding storytelling, writing and content creation skills
  • A track record of creating content and/or campaigns that drive engagement, understanding or behavioural change
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
  • Experience partnering with a broad range of people
  • A passion for people/employee experience, culture and engagement
  • The ability to move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery
  • Curiosity, creativity and a willingness to try new ideas
  • Bonus points for experience running events

If you've done all of this before, fantastic. If not, but you're excited by the opportunity and confident you can make an impact, we'd still love to hear from you.
