About this role:

We are looking for Senior Interior Designers to join our team in Jakarta. This role is based in Jakarta. Our Jakarta Office is in a vibrant area of Jakarta, Indonesia, known for its dynamic atmosphere and exemplifying a blend of creativity and culture, making it a thriving environment for design professionals.

As a Senior Interior Designer specializing in hospitality design, you will lead and inspire a team of designers, overseeing the design process from concept to completion. Your expertise and passion for creating captivating, functional, and inviting spaces will be instrumental in shaping the guest experience within hotels, resorts, restaurants, and other hospitality venues. You will work closely with clients and cross-functional teams to bring your design visions to life, ensuring exceptional quality and creativity in every project.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualization and development of interior design concepts that align with the client's vision and project goals.

• Develop mood boards, sketches, and design proposals to convey your ideas effectively.

• Collaborate with the design team to bring concepts to life through detailed design development and space planning.

• Source and select appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the design concept and budget.

• Direct and review furniture installation plans and shop drawings for content and accuracy and ensure that they are fully coordinated with all pertinent consultant drawings.

• Generate FF&E design based on established project criteria, program, and budget.

• Develop FF&E and architectural finish specifications for documentation, review and approve FF&E purchase orders, coordinate final placement of FF&E installation with all parties involved, and maintain FF&E budget for all phases of the project interiors.

• Review and understand detailed construction documents (floor plans, elevations, sections, electrical details, schedules, furniture floor plans, FF&E specifications, materials, and finishes) to determine compliance with quality, code, and design standards.

• Attend site meetings and assist in the property review process alongside the Project Manager.

• Regularly communicate project status to the Design Director and maintain effective communication with all project team members.

• Direct the education of Designers and Junior Designers regarding design standards and policies.

• Assume a lead role in design presentations, communicating directly with clients, and ensuring that the format aligns with office and client standards and requirements.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their needs and ensuring that design solutions meet and exceed their expectations.

• Maintain knowledge of the latest industry trends, products, and sustainable design practices.

Below are the minimum qualifications that we expect from you:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in interior design/architecture

• 8+ years of experience in hospitality projects

• Project requirement (i.e. luxury 5-star hotel projects, luxury residential, F&B, etc.)

• A portfolio of previous project experience in luxury hospitality, F&B, high-end residential, clubhouse, or show flats

• Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).

• Fluent in English

To be successful in the role you should also have:

• Proven design talent with a strong technical aptitude for formulating design parameters and executing high-quality work.

• Ability to create logical action plans for project completion, ensuring design solutions within deadlines and budget constraints.

• In-depth understanding of hospitality design and products, alongside a solid background in interior architecture and FF&E.

• Experienced in delivering compelling presentations effectively to clients and stakeholders.

• Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, departments, and external partners.

• Assertive and self-motivated, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.

• Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.

• Effective leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate team members.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% for project-related activities.
