Job Description
As a Senior Integration Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice designing, developing, and implementing APIs and enterprise integration solutions that connect data, services, and systems across AWS cloud and on-premises environments. You will develop integration capabilities using Java and Python while working with RESTful APIs, middleware, SQL databases, document storage solutions, SaaS platforms, and enterprise applications. We are looking for candidates with experience leveraging cloud platform services, understanding business requirements, and delivering complex, scalable integration solutions.
Contributions
Responsibilities include:
- Understand stakeholder needs and translate business requirements into technical integration solutions.
- Perform peer code reviews, evaluate code quality, and provide technical guidance and recommendations.
- Ensure systems are secure against cybersecurity threats and follow secure coding best practices.
- Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixes.
- Develop APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations using Java, Python, and modern integration technologies to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise integration strategies, establish integration best practices, and provide technical leadership across integration initiatives.
- Design reusable assets, components, standards, frameworks, and processes to support and facilitate API and integration projects.
- Advise technical teams on performance, scalability, reliability, monitoring, and operational concerns related to enterprise integration solutions.
- Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into integration interfaces and implementations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation explaining existing and proposed integrations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Document the current state of software environments, perform gap analyses, and produce technical artifacts with recommendations.
- Act as an individual contributor while mentoring junior team members.
- Engineer and implement integration solutions while providing recommendations for continuous improvement of supported services.
- Present regular project status updates and provide cross-training to other team members.
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field OR Bachelor's degree in a non-IT field with two (2) years of related IT experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services and cloud-native integration solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- 5+ years of experience developing software using Java and Python.
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise integration technologies, middleware platforms, or ESB solutions.
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing API management solutions, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience integrating SaaS platforms, SQL databases, flat files, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and AWS cloud services.
- Experience designing and developing ETL processes, ESB integrations, APIs, and enterprise messaging solutions using integration middleware.
Preferred:
- Possess at least one integration-related certification.
- 5+ years of application development experience in an Agile environment.
- Experience implementing Docker containers and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Experience designing, implementing, and documenting APIs.
- Experience utilizing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Travis CI.
- Experience implementing automated testing frameworks for APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Knowledge of cloud-native integration, microservices architecture, containerization, and event-driven design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated initiative in recommending process improvements and applying creative problem-solving approaches.

The projected compensation range for this position is $140,000 to $170,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
