About the opportunity

Jackson McDonald’s Insurance Practice is looking for a Senior Lawyer with at least 5 years post-admission experience as well as defendant experience in workers compensation and public liability.

Work directly alongside partners Alex Lustig and Erica Thuijs on interesting matters as part of an energetic, dynamic and collaborative team.

This is a rare opportunity for someone to start building a lasting insurance law practice in a well established, supportive team. About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience
• Meaningful experience running a file load of defendant workers compensation and public liability matters.
• The motivation and drive to deliver responsive and consistent service to the practice’s clients.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• A genuine desire to coach, mentor and become a great supervisor to junior lawyers.
• Strong knowledge of the statutory workers compensation system and legal principles relevant to common law claims.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Confidence to act in a client-facing role.
• Understanding and knowledge in the use of various IT systems.
