Description

We're growing our Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) team across South Carolina and seeking experienced Senior Inspectors to lead the way. If you're a seasoned inspector ready to step into a leadership role, we'd love to explore this opportunity with you. (Based in Columbia, SC, but open to all areas of South Carolina.)

The Role:

You'll perform in complex construction environments, overseeing quality control through rigorous inspections and testing, and mentoring junior inspectors. Working under Project Manager guidance, you'll ensure projects meet the highest standards while developing the next generation of inspectors.

What you will lead

  • Document and oversee daily contractor work efforts and progress
  • Coordinate with field teams and utility owners to keep projects on track
  • Prepare field books and earthwork construction logs with precision
  • Collect and prepare material samples for laboratory testing
  • Measure and verify construction dimensions, levels, and alignment
  • Observe work in progress to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Review finished installations for quality and workmanship standards
  • Support for Project Close-out
  • Lead and mentor lower-level inspectors

What you'll bring

  • Extensive experience as an Inspector or Senior Inspector in construction services
  • Proven track record managing and mentoring inspection teams
  • Strong technical expertise in field surveying, construction layout, and inspections
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Full-time commitment with flexibility across South Carolina locations
  • Relevant state and nationally-recognized training qualifications certifications (SCDOT, SCDES, ACI or equivalent)
