Occupational Summary
Perform inspection of production work operations and materials on projects and assemblies for conformance to specifications and standards. Perform the complete examination and interpretation of nondestructive test-s for conformance of production materials, purchased parts, and workmanship to establish requirements.
Work Performed
Plan and interpret inspection procedures, sequence setup, and mathematical computation required, working from engineering design prints, drawings, and work orders.
May be required to make surface plate or table setup and/or layout part to check dimensional deviation using precision measuring instruments.
Approve acceptable items and reject unacceptable items, and verify re-operation required. Maintain records and paperwork as required.
Perform complete visual and other required inspections of subassemblies, assemblies, and complete systems. Set up and operate testing equipment and fixtures as required.
May assist Engineering in the development of operating standards, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair procedures of new or established systems.
Issue, control, and make minor repair to inspection stamps. Maintain records for furnaces and ovens.
Collect samples of various cleaning chemicals for testing and update cleaning facility records
Perform such typical operations as the inspection of production parts and assemblies for quality, cleanliness, workmanship, gauge, hardness, and close tolerance dimensions.
Perform fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle and dye penetrant tests. Interpret to accept or reject parts according to specifications.
May grind surfaces of parts to aid in determining extent of flaws.
Perform gage and tool calibration.
Operate, program and troubleshoot programs on the Gear Measurement System
Ability to train all required skills for inspectors.
What You Have:
High School, GED or equivalent
May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 6+ years of experience in the field or in a related field
Must be willing to work any shift

Pay Range:
$30.75 - $46.13
