Role Purpose:
•Responsible for generation of forecast inputs and assumptions required for a syndicated drug-level forecast database product in Global Market Insights, reporting into Manager, Data Analytics.
Principle Accountabilities
•Build and analyze the rationales for country specific forecast assumptions for multiple indications using secondary sources and his/her understanding of therapy area, and country/geography specific nuances.
•Under broad guidance from manager, performs accurate and timely provision of manual inputs and assumptions to augment the automated generation of syndicated drug-level forecasts.
•Must be aware of MIDAS data caveats and should be able to identify inconsistencies/gaps and rectify them by using secondary data sources.
•Must be able to understand and manipulate quantitative data, particularly in generating test sets for comparison to automated data outputs.
•Follow best practice in ensuring quality and timeliness of input data capture and assumptions such as projected drug launch dates, loss-of-protection dates and share-shift assumptions.
•Support manager in driving a consistent approach to the application of inputs and assumptions across drug classes, countries and diseases. This consistent approach is essential in the creation of standardized outputs that can be held in a data cube that can be segmented by key industry dimensions including drug, therapy, company, country and disease.
Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required
•Bachelor’s/Masters Degree with previous professional experience preferably working with pharmaceutical data.
•5 or more years work experience in a similar environment would be considered.
•Understanding of pharmaceutical domain and broad level understanding of major economies pharmaceutical environment will be advantageous.
•Must be diligent with secondary research using search engines and clinical trial websites.
•Prior experience of pharmaceutical forecasting, model development, and advanced excel.
