We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Senior Innovation Engineer within our Engineeringteam to help support our Automotivebusiness. As a Senior Innovation Engineer you will have the opportunity to execute innovation activities and leads complex innovation projects. The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Adhere to company vision/mission, values, and safety vision
2. Lead innovations focused on new and next generation products to expand current portfolio until POC (proof of concept) and first phase support to CPD.
3.Establish, maintain and develop regular contact with internal and external customers, suppliers, innovative companies and research institutes on all relevant topics in accordance with LPA strategy and product roadmaps
4. Stay up-to-date regarding industry, regional and mega trends; assess impact on LPA. Scout and assess new technologies relevant to LPA strategy and product roadmaps.
5.Coach more junior engineers inside the innovation team regarding products, technologies and processes
6. Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, processes, standards, design and program details; ensure protection of intellectual property and freedom to act
7.Ensure all innovations are reviewed for best practice from a design to cost , design to manufacture and design to requirment perspective to ensure competitiveness. Ensure all needed compliance and audit deliverables are met.
8. Planning and moderation of ideation workshops using appropriate mehtods and support the selection process. Submit ideas to the ideation list / portal
Experience:
1.Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced develoment or technology scouting
2.Ability to coach people; first experience in a leadership role is a plus
3.Experienced with product development
4.Proven history of idea generation implementation
5.Ability to work with cross-functional teams
