WorkCover Queensland is entering an exciting new chapter, guided by a renewed strategic focus and strong executive leadership shaping our 2030 Strategy. We’re embarking on an enterprise-wide transformation to strengthen our impact and continue making a positive difference in people’s lives.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Innovation Analyst to help identify, assess and shape opportunities for improvement across WorkCover Queensland.
Working within our Innovation and AI team, this role sits at the intersection of strategy, business improvement, innovation and emerging technology. You'll work with leaders across the organisation to understand complex problems, evaluate opportunities and provide evidence-based recommendations that help shape future decisions.
While artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are important areas of focus, this role is fundamentally about understanding business problems, assessing opportunities objectively and helping the organisation make informed decisions about where to invest its time and effort. You will lead discovery activities, facilitate workshops, conduct research and analysis, assess business value, and develop clear recommendations for stakeholders and governance forums. Working closely with business leaders, architects and technology specialists, you'll help translate ideas into practical, achievable outcomes.
Success in this role will come from your ability to bring structure to ambiguity, ask insightful questions, analyse information from multiple sources and translate findings into practical recommendations. While you'll contribute to innovation and emerging technology initiatives, your focus will be on ensuring opportunities are well understood, evidence-based and aligned to business needs before they move into delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, working across a variety of business areas and helping turn ideas into actionable outcomes.
About You
You're a naturally curious and pragmatic analyst who enjoys understanding how organisations work and finding better ways to solve business problems.
You bring experience in business analysis, transformation, continuous improvement or innovation-related roles, with a strong ability to investigate complex issues, work through ambiguity and turn insights into practical recommendations.
You're comfortable engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, gathering information, challenging assumptions and helping teams make informed decisions. Rather than staying at a high level, you're motivated by understanding the detail, exploring root causes and ensuring the right problems are being solved.
You understand that emerging technologies, including AI, can create opportunities for organisations, but you're focused on evaluating their practical application and business value rather than technology for technology's sake.
You'll bring:
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining analysis, curiosity and pragmatism to help shape better business outcomes and support the responsible adoption of new ideas and technologies across WorkCover Queensland.
