As a Senior Infrastructure/Platform Engineer, you'll own the foundation powering a high-growth financial platform, scaling Kubernetes infrastructure, distributed databases, messaging systems, and cloud-native technologies while solving complex reliability, performance, and scalability challenges.

What You'll Do
- Own and scale the core infrastructure foundation powering billions in financial transactions
- Design, build, and evolve Kubernetes platforms supporting high-growth production systems
- Scale and optimize infrastructure components including Kubernetes, CockroachDB, Kafka, Temporal, and Redis
- Build and maintain infrastructure abstractions using Terraform and Pulumi to improve engineering velocity
- Improve reliability, observability, security, and performance across the infrastructure stack
- Design scalable cloud-native architectures using AWS services including EKS, ALB, WAF, Route 53, S3, and OpenSearch
- Solve complex scaling, latency, and performance challenges across high-volume financial systems
- Improve CI/CD pipelines to increase deployment speed, reliability, and engineering efficiency
- Build infrastructure tooling that enables engineering teams to move faster with confidence
- Establish infrastructure best practices and operational standards across engineering teams
- Lead technical initiatives from architecture design through production implementation
- Partner with engineering teams to improve developer experience, reliability, and system scalability
Ideal Candidate Background
Experience Requirements
- 4+ years of infrastructure/platform engineering experience
- Experience owning and scaling production infrastructure systems
- Experience working at VC-backed startups or fast-paced technology companies
- Experience leading large infrastructure initiatives from design through execution
- Demonstrated ability to build, operate, and improve high-scale production systems
- Experience working in Series A–C startups or high-growth environments
- Proven track record of measurable infrastructure improvements and ownership
- Ability to operate as a technical leader, not just an individual contributor
Technical Requirements
- Deep expertise with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure platforms
- Strong AWS experience, including production-scale cloud architectures
- Experience managing Kubernetes clusters, preferably with Amazon EKS
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
- Experience with distributed systems and large-scale infrastructure
- Experience with production databases such as CockroachDB or similar distributed databases
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or equivalent event-streaming platforms
- Experience with workflow orchestration systems such as Temporal
- Experience improving CI/CD systems, deployment pipelines, and developer tooling
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering, observability, monitoring, and production operations
- Experience solving performance, scalability, and low-latency engineering challenges
- Ability to design secure, resilient, and highly available infrastructure systems
Education
- Bachelor's degree from a US, Canadian, or European university preferred
- Strong technical background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
