Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Seattle, Washington, Overland AI is transforming land operations for modern defense. The company leverages over a decade of advanced research in robotics and machine learning, as well as a field-test forward ethos, to deliver combined capabilities for unit commanders. Our OverDrive autonomy stack enables ground vehicles to navigate and operate off-road in any terrain without GPS or direct operator control. Our intuitive OverWatch C2 interface provides commanders with precise coordination capabilities essential for mission success.
Overland AI has secured funding from prominent defense tech investors including 8VC and Point 72, and built trusted partnerships with DARPA, the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and Special Operations Command. Backed by eight-figure contracts across the Department of Defense, we are strengthening national security by iterating closely with end users engaged in tactical operations.
Overland AI is building off-road autonomy, and our software infrastructure is the backbone that enables our teams to move fast, experiment safely, and ship mission-critical systems. As an infrastructure software engineer, you'll design, build, the internal platforms, libraries, and tooling that enable our engineering organization to move faster and operate more reliably.
We are looking for a senior backend or full-stack software engineer to join our infrastructure team in a role that sits at the intersection of software engineering, developer experience, and platform tooling. You are an expert in identifying areas of improvement and will contribute to and build shared libraries, service frameworks, and internal tools used across our AI, robotics, and backend systems. Successful candidates will have a track record of evangelizing and implementing industry best practices in microservice or hardware environments and have consistently delivered results on cross-team initiatives.
You will help bring rigor to observability, security, CI/CD, and service deployment while contributing to CI/CD, DevOps, infrastructure as code, compliance, and infrastructure initiatives across the organization. We are responsible for physical infrastructure and cloud platforms to DevSecOps, SRE, field deployments, and software engineering. Successful candidates are able to work across traditional role boundaries.
