A senior CAD professional with deep, hands-on design experience who is ready to expand their career into information development, using that expertise to create documentation and other user assistance that helps customers harness the power of Designcenter NX.

The ideal candidate has spent years in industry creating structures such as complex assemblies, wire routings, harness designs, piping layouts, cable tray layouts, and ship designs. They know the complexity, the edge cases, and the workflows that matter, and are now motivated to put that knowledge to work creating authoritative, practitioner-grade content that advanced design engineers can rely on.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learns the software product, conducts research, and becomes a subject-matter expert.
  • Develops user-focused content, including online help, tutorials, graphics, and videos.
  • Plans, develops, and maintains new and existing information solutions for end users of CAD software.
  • Uses Madcap IXIA (DITA XML) content-authoring tool to compose end-user user documentation.
  • Communicates project progress to collaborators through meetings and status updates.
  • Works closely with other internal teams to develop and track deliverables.
Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Expertise and practical design experience with CAD software, especially wire routing, harness design, piping layout, cable tray layout, ship design, and working with large assemblies.
  • Ability to understand technical/mechanical engineering concepts and to learn complex, specialized CAD product functionality and applications.
  • Demonstrated user-focused technical writing ability. Must be able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills. Effectively communicates in one-to-one and group situations.
Education and Experience Requirement:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or international graduate of an equivalent university-level program) in mechanical engineering, technical communication, or related field.
  • 8 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Previous experience with Siemens NX CAD and Siemens Teamcenter software is desired.
  • Ability to use generative AI to improve productivity.
