Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer (Level 4) to join our team in Smithfield and Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania.
Position Responsibilities:
Applies advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements
Reviews the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows
Identifies new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations
Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel
Reviews work flow design and analysis
Leads the development of models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leader and customers
Leads research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization
Reviews plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods
Evaluates product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices
Leads operations planning, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met
Leads execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices
Monitors production, performance visibility and recovery planning support
Ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
9+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
Experience with Industrial Engineering information systems and tools
Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, plant layout, simulation, and production scheduling
Experience leading improvement projects using continuous improvement methodologies
