Job Description

Purpose of the Job

Design, develop, validate, and implement assembly and testing processes across the product lifecycle to enable efficient, high-quality, and repeatable production, while supporting industrialisation, supplier development, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BEng Industrial Engineering
  • 4 - 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing design and industrialisation environment
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrialisation principles, and product lifecycle integration
  • Proven capability in PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and throughput/capacity analysis
  • Experience in opto-mechatronic systems and concurrent engineering/product industrialisation would be advantageous
  • Exposure to high-tech or engineering environments

Key Technical Skills

  • Production & Industrialisation Expertise: CAPEX planning, production line design, commissioning, and optimisation
  • Engineering & Analytical Capability: Strong problem-solving with solid grounding in mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering principles
  • Manufacturing & Producibility: DFMAS application, producibility analysis, and translation of lifecycle requirements into manufacturable solutions
  • Quality & Risk Management: PFMEA, APQP, EN9145, and quality control methodologies
  • Technical Systems & Collaboration: Opto-mechatronic systems knowledge with effective cross-functional communication and collaboration

Key responsibilities

1. Requirements and Industrialisation Resource Management

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define production requirements and develop iSOWs within industrialisation projects to ensure aligned and executable manufacturing strategies

2. Process Design, Development and Documentation

  • Lead and define manufacturing processes and documentation through DFMAS, PFMEA, and PFDs during development to ensure scalable, optimised, and production-ready solutions

3. Process Implementation and Production Readiness

  • Implement production solutions, including CAPEX, tooling, and line commissioning during industrialisation, to ensure efficient production start-up and operational readiness

4. Process Validation, Qualification and Risk Management

  • Validate and mitigate process risks through PFMEA, MSA, and capacity validation during pre-production to ensure stable, repeatable, and high-quality production

5. Supplier, Quality and Production Support Optimisation

  • Support and optimise supplier and production performance through quality resolution, resource utilisation, and documentation control across the lifecycle to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement
