Our Import team handles an average of around 100 shipments per person per month. A fast pace? Absolutely. But with your experience in ocean freight, that is exactly the kind of challenge that keeps you motivated! You know the business inside out, effortlessly maintain oversight, and know how to balance customer expectations, carriers, and deadlines. You manage import shipments from A to Z, anticipate potential issues, resolve bottlenecks quickly, and ensure every file is accurate down to the last detail, including the financial settlement. The result? Efficient processes, satisfied customers, and shipments reaching their destination smoothly]: You’re on it.

How you do this? We trust you to organize your work in the way that works best for you. Naturally, you bring knowledge of Incoterms, strong relationship management skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for hands-on operational work. You manage customer files from A to Z and take the lead throughout the process. You achieve this by:

• translating customer requests into bookings and coordinating ocean freight import shipments, including the administrative and financial settlement of files in CargoWise;
• checking transport documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with applicable Incoterms and customer-specific agreements;
• coordinating and instructing the customs team on the preparation of T1 documents and the handling of customs clearances;
• proactively identifying and following up on deviations throughout the transport process, keeping customers informed of shipment progress, and resolving claims and operational issues.

You bring

• several years of relevant experience in ocean freight, preferably in freight forwarding, with a solid understanding of operational import and/or export processes;
• knowledge of FCL and LCL shipments, including the associated documentation, transport flows, and operational procedures;
• a proactive, results-driven approach. You take ownership, identify potential issues in a timely manner, and independently take action to ensure shipments run smoothly;
• strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously, set the right priorities, and keep track of deadlines and commitments;
• a meticulous approach, with a keen eye for detail when checking transport documentation, invoicing, and the financial settlement of files.
