Number of Positions: 1Work Location: 100% On-SiteSenior Impact Manager (SIM) leads and develops two teams of AmeriCorps Volunteers (ACVs) as idealistic, emerging leaders and practitioners focused on strengthening schools and supporting students to improve performance. Reporting to an Impact Director and working from a partner school(s), the SIM plays a critical role in implementing City Year’s school-based Whole School Whole Child (WSWC) service model, mission, and practices. The SIM is also an effective talent developer who will support AmeriCorps members through a challenging and rewarding year of service.

Key Responsibilities

Student Impact & Service Delivery

  • Lead implementation of City Year’s Whole School Whole Child model, ensuring interventions are delivered to the right students at the right time.
  • Monitor student attendance, behavior, and course performance data using Early Warning Indicators to inform intervention strategies and assess effectiveness.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of student support interventions and school climate initiatives at two school partners.
  • Coach Service Leaders and AmeriCorps Volunteers in developing and delivering data-informed, scaffolded lesson plans that address identified student needs.
  • Partner with Impact leadership to secure instructional resources and provide training that supports effective intervention delivery and ongoing assessment practices.
  • Serve as a model practitioner, demonstrating excellence in impact delivery and student support.

AmeriCorps Member Leadership & Development

  • Lead, manage, and coach two teams of AmeriCorps Volunteers to achieve service goals, performance standards, and leadership development objectives.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and inclusion aligned with City Year’s values.
  • Support Service Leaders and AmeriCorps Volunteers through performance coaching, professional development, and career planning.
  • Guide Service Leaders in facilitating training, team-building, and culture-building activities within the school community.
  • Ensure AmeriCorps Volunteers comply with City Year, AmeriCorps, and organizational policies and requirements.

School & Community Partnership Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with principals, teachers, school staff, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Manage school partnership agreements and ensure conditions for success are established and maintained.
  • Collaborate with school personnel to align City Year services with school goals and student needs.
  • Support student, family, and community engagement efforts that strengthen school partnerships and student outcomes.

Impact Team Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Director of Impact to strengthen team effectiveness and organizational alignment.
  • Attend and contribute to Impact meetings, providing updates on team successes, challenges, and development priorities.
  • Support the implementation of Impact department initiatives and continuously improve service delivery practices across the site.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance across the organization.
