Our Data Services team consists of collaborative, inclusive, and creative individuals. We develop cloud-native services with high reliability and massive scale on top of Akamai Cloud (formerly Linode) the most distributed and closest to the edge cloud platform in the world.

You will join a fully remote team, split across US and Europe, responsible for Query2, the foundation of all observability within Akamai Classic.

We seek a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to drive key quality initiatives and improve legacy systems and processes. This role offers significant technical influence, rapid progress, and the chance to lead impactful changes while gaining valuable experience. It is an excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully and advance professionally in a dynamic environment.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Driving meaningful changes in our testing processes, acting as a champion for modern QA methodologies.
• Owning the quality aspects of the team products
• Rewriting of our regression and performance testing frameworks, primarily utilizing Python
• Leading quality planning of new features together with R&D and the product teams
• Collaborating with other engineering teams
• Investigating critical issues in the product and maintain its high quality.
• Being an integral part of our thriving culture and improve the team and the company

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Demonstrate expertise in testing, showcasing proficiency in QA methodologies and a history of successfully advancing engineering processes.
• Possess automation expertise with extensive understanding of test automation concepts. Python experience is ideal, though alternative technology backgrounds are welcome.
• Have remote collaboration skills: Excellent communication skills to work effectively across US and Europe time zones
