WHY BAI COMMUNICATIONS

It's an exciting time to be part of BAI Communications. Building on our achievements in broadcasting, telecommunications and critical communications, we continue to expand our operations, helping connect people and support communities.

We operate one of the world's most extensive broadcast networks, delivering fully managed television and radio services to 99% of the Australian population. During crises such as natural disasters, national broadcasters depend on BAI to maintain vital communications, while emergency services trust us to keep them connected and informed.

As 5G technology transforms connectivity, BAI is leveraging global experience to enable comprehensive coverage in challenging environments including buildings, tunnels, stadiums and high-density areas. This expertise positions us at the forefront of intelligent, connected infrastructure development across Australia.

Our acquisition of Titan ICT has strengthened our mission-critical capabilities, adding deep expertise in mining, resources and energy industries. This expansion enables us to deploy robust solutions across Australia's most demanding operational environments.

LET'S EXPLORE THE ROLE

As a Senior RF Engineering Consultant, you'll play a key role in designing, delivering and optimising mission-critical communications networks that support some of Australia's largest mining, oil & gas and industrial operations.

Working as a trusted technical advisor, you'll lead RF engineering activities from concept and feasibility through to commissioning and optimisation. You'll collaborate with clients, project teams, OEMs and system integrators to develop innovative wireless solutions that improve safety, productivity and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead RF design and engineering activities across Private LTE, Private 5G, LMR, microwave, Wi-Fi and industrial wireless networks.
  • Conduct coverage modelling, capacity planning, spectrum analysis and interference studies
  • Design and optimise antenna systems including DAS, leaky feeder and microwave solutions.
  • Prepare technical proposals, business cases, feasibility studies and engineering reports.
  • Lead communications workstreams through FEED, detailed design, construction support and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct site surveys, acceptance testing, troubleshooting and network performance optimisation.
  • Ensure compliance with ACMA regulations, industry standards and client requirements.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the organisation.
  • Support business growth through client engagement and trusted advisor relationships.

LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOU

You are an experienced RF Engineer or Communications Consultant with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in complex operational environments. You enjoy solving challenging technical problems, building strong client relationships and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Relevant Engineering qualification or significant experience in telecommunications, wireless communications or critical communications networks.
  • Strong expertise in RF design, propagation modelling, spectrum management and network optimisation.
  • Experience with Private LTE/5G, P25, DMR, TETRA, microwave, Wi-Fi or industrial wireless technologies.
  • Exposure to mining, resources, oil & gas or industrial communications environments.
  • Strong consulting, stakeholder management and technical reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects across the full lifecycle
  • A commitment to safety, innovation and continuous improvement.
