
Senior Hydraulic Technician
Our client, a leading fleet and equipment services organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Hydraulic Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and reliability of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems across a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles and heavy equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and technical support of hydraulic systems in both workshop and field environments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment uptime, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and service quality.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, safety conscious, detail oriented, and capable of supporting junior technicians while contributing to a high performance maintenance operation.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations
• Diagnose, repair, maintain, and overhaul hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems
• Perform major and non-routine hydraulic repairs on company and customer equipment
• Rebuild and test hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and accumulator systems
• Conduct hydraulic pressure testing, calibration, leak detection, and performance analysis
• Interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and service documentation
• Troubleshoot load sensing, pilot operated, and electro-hydraulic control systems
• Complete work orders, service reports, and parts documentation accurately and on time
• Perform quality inspections and verify repair effectiveness
• Minimize equipment downtime and reduce repeat repair occurrences
Leadership & Team Support
• Assist technicians with advanced troubleshooting and technical guidance
• Support efficient assignment and coordination of repair activities
• Promote teamwork, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement
• Recommend tools, equipment, and process improvements
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and company operating procedures
• Identify and report equipment, operational, or safety concerns
• Support operational risk management and safety initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
• Certification or diploma in Hydraulics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum of five years' experience repairing and maintaining hydraulic systems
• Experience working on heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, or mobile equipment preferred
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Valid driver's licence is an asset
