Senior Human Services Program Specialist

ESS Program Office-Family Track

INTERNAL AD, OPEN TO CURRENT DCF EMPLOYEES ONLY.

This is an anticipated vacancy with the ESS Program Office Policy Unit-Central Region.

This is a promotional opportunity, the salary will be $36,367.60 or a 10% raise, whichever is higher

This is a highly responsible professional position requiring expertise in the Economic Self Sufficiency program areas, including extensive knowledge of program concepts, Federal & State laws and regulations, and the FLORIDA computer system. The individual occupying this position is responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures of the ESS programs, as assigned, are administered correctly. This is accomplished by maintaining close liaison with the State Program Office and Regional Operations staff.

This position can sit in Ocala, Kissimmee, Orlando, or Lakeland

Position Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Interprets, coordinates, and communicates program policies and procedures developed by the State Program Office to Operations staff on a continuing basis concerning the ESS programs.
  • Develops, interprets, coordinates, and communicates program policies and procedures specific to the Region Operations staff on a continuing basis.
  • Compiles statistical reports and prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Receives and acts upon input from Operations staff on policy-related matters.
  • Acts as a liaison identifying local needs and problems; analyzes and researches policy and procedures for recommended changes in cooperation with the State Program Office.
  • Acts as liaison to other community agencies and serves as a spokesperson on program policy within the community.
  • Provides professional assistance and consultation to all levels of Department of Children and Families staff to resolve problems arising in program eligibility, service provision and policy implementation.
  • Provides technical assistance on FLORIDA and all data support system and reports.
  • Develops program information, data reports and analysis of process and performance information on a regular basis for distribution to staff and the community regarding program objectives, policies, changes, etc
  • Assesses, plans, develops, organizes, schedules, and delivers in-service, community partner, and other training modules based on operational needs and requests within the Region.
  • Performs other related duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication; office procedures and practices; basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful, courteous, and effective manner; speak clearly and correctly; listen effectively.
  • Knowledge of the rules, requirements, and processes of the Family Track programs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 years experience as an ESS ll or higher with the Florida Department of Children and Families.
  • 2 years experience in Family Track programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience as an ESS Supervisor or above with the Florida Department of Children and Families.
