Job Description

Join us in this role where you’ll support the development and implementation of Ørsted’s human rights due diligence practices, translate complex regulatory expectations into practical guidance, and enhance the tools and processes that enable responsible and compliant business conduct across our global operations.

Welcome to Global Sustainability
You’ll be part of the Sustainability Due Diligence & Compliance team where you, together with your colleagues will drive human rights due diligence across supply chains, own operations, and communities, while strengthening data, methodologies, and reporting practices for internal and external stakeholders. The team consists of five people, including advisors and a student, all working globally, primarily from Gentofte.
As a team, we collaborate closely, value diverse perspectives, and support each other in tackling meaningful sustainability challenges.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • supporting human rights due diligence activities, including screenings, targeted impact assessments, and follow‑up actions across the full value chain
  • translating human rights regulations, such as CSDDD and international standards, into clear and actionable guidance for internal teams
  • maintaining and enhancing due diligence data, including risk registers, dashboards, and methodologies
  • preparing briefings, presentations, disclosures, and responses for customers, investors, and external stakeholders
  • delivering internal capability building through training, guidance, and cross‑functional engagement
  • contributing to internal and external reporting, including Modern Slavery Statements and ESG disclosures.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • bring human rights expertise with working knowledge of international standards and legislation, including the UNGPs, ILO Core Conventions, OECD Guidelines, the EU CSDDD, and other emerging human rights due diligence regulations
  • have practical experience in translating these standards into simple, practical guidance for a corporate setting, and ideally hands‑on experience with human rights supply chain due diligence and value chain impact assessments
  • show the ability to lead or contribute to projects, navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, manage and drive change effectively, and see tasks through to completion
  • apply strategic and analytical thinking to identify human rights trends and translate them into actionable business priorities
  • have strong reporting and documentation capabilities, ensuring clarity, consistency, and evidence‑based outputs – it is an advantage if you have working experience with EU CSRD
  • have relevant degree such as law, social science, business administration, or equivalent working experience
  • communicate clearly, adapt your messaging to diverse audiences, and build trust across functions.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.

About Ørsted

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind power and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world.

Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.

We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen, and energy storage. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm back in 1991, and with over 2,000 turbines at sea, we’ve installed more offshore wind capacity than anyone else. In total, we own or operate over 17 GW of renewable energy capacity across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

We know that to build renewable energy at pace and scale, we must build it right. We commit to developing and operating our assets in harmony with nature and in line with the need for science-based climate action. We prioritise integrity and safety in our operations, and we respect the human rights and diverse values of every employee and stakeholder.

As a global renewable energy leader, we leverage the curiosity and passion of our people to innovate and take new or existing technologies to scale, collaborating with governments, suppliers, and our industry partners to make green energy solutions a reality.
