Job Description

The Senior HR Services Specialist is a key contributor to the Human Resources team, providing advanced support and leadership across HR operations, employee experience, and systems management. This role serves as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex HR inquiries, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service aligned with Bell Bank’s values. The Senior Specialist leads process improvements, mentors junior team members, and partners cross-functionally to enhance HR programs and systems. With a strong focus on compliance, operational excellence, and employee engagement, this role plays a critical part in shaping a positive workplace culture and driving HR service delivery across the organization.

Responsibilities

Employee Support

  • Serve as a senior-level resource for employee inquiries, resolving complex questions and guiding employees through HR processes.
  • Lead onboarding efforts, including orientation facilitation and continuous improvement of onboarding materials and experience.
  • Provide advanced education on HR policies and programs; identify trends in employee feedback and recommend program enhancements.
  • Support annual benefit enrollment, performance review cycles, and other recurrent HR events.
  • Mentor and support junior HR team members, providing guidance and training on service standards and HR processes.
  • Facilitate employee exit meetings to support HR business partner team, ensuring a respectful and informative offboarding experience while capturing feedback to support continuous improvement of HR services.
  • Oversee the intake and prioritization of accommodation and employee relations matters, ensuring consistency and escalating complex issues as appropriate.
  • Support contingent workforce processes, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance with policies, and coordination across HR, procurement, and business partners.

HR Operations & Administration

  • Oversee employee record management, ensuring compliance with retention policies, internal standards, and external regulations.
  • Lead processing of employee lifecycle changes, including promotions, transfers, and separations, and recommend enhancements to promote efficient workflows.
  • Manage sensitive HR transactions and serve as a resource for employment verifications, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Partner with specialized HR teams to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and improve operational workflows.
  • Partner with specialized teams to support complex projects and initiatives, contributing to planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Support company store operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, vendor coordination, and alignment with brand standards and employee needs.
  • Evaluate information and apply sound judgment to prioritize tasks and address day-to-day requests and challenges.
  • Apply critical thinking to assess complex issues, identifying risks, root causes, and appropriate solutions.

Systems & Program Management

  • Provide administrative employee support for the Learning Management System.
  • Maintain system expertise of HR tools and company systems to support processing of employee actions, and serve as a resource for employee questions.
  • Act as a systems expert for HRIS and internal applications, issues, processing employee actions, and serving as a resource for employee questions.
  • Recommend and lead process documentation improvement efforts of HR processes and procedures, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Support the tracking and gathering of team and departmental KPIs.
  • Identify areas where process audits may be beneficial, recommending proactive checks to improve data quality and operational efficiency.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in human resources with expertise in HR operations, systems, and employee support, preferably in banking/financial industry.
  • Professional certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Experience with employee benefits education and enrollment processes preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and systems (e.g., ADP) strongly preferred.
