Renewal Falls Recovery Center, powered by Ascension Recovery Services, is looking for an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our growing HR team and support our treatment centers throughout Iowa and Indiana.

This position will be based in Cedar Falls, Iowa and serve as a hands-on regional HR partner to facility leadership and team members. The primary focus of the role will be talent acquisition and employee relations, along with onboarding support and other day-to-day HR needs across the region.

  • Gain exposure to a broad range of HR and employee relations matters
  • Partner directly with operational and executive leadership
  • Help shape scalable HR practices as the organization continues to grow

What You'll Do

Lead Regional Talent Acquisition

Talent acquisition will be a major focus of this position. You will:

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for positions throughout Iowa and Indiana
  • Partner with facility leaders to understand current and upcoming staffing needs
  • Recruit for clinical, nursing, behavioral health, recovery support, administrative, and leadership positions
  • Build proactive candidate pipelines for difficult-to-fill and high-volume roles
  • Source candidates through job boards, networking, direct outreach, social media, colleges, universities, and community partnerships
  • Develop relationships with nursing schools, behavioral health programs, colleges, workforce organizations, and other recruiting partners
  • Screen and interview candidates
  • Coordinate interviews and help hiring managers move candidates efficiently through the process
  • Support hiring managers with interviewing and candidate selection
  • Assist with offers and pre-employment processes
  • Monitor open positions, candidate pipelines, aging requisitions, and recruiting trends
  • Help develop creative recruiting strategies based on the needs of each market

Support Employee Relations

You'll also serve as a trusted HR resource for facility leaders and employees by:

  • Assisting with workplace investigations and employee complaints
  • Helping leaders navigate difficult employee conversations
  • Reviewing documentation for consistency and completeness
  • Escalating significant or high-risk employee relations matters to HR leadership
  • Helping ensure policies and workplace expectations are applied consistently

Help Create a Strong Onboarding Experience

  • Support new hires throughout the onboarding process
  • Partner with facility leaders to ensure new employees are prepared for Day One
  • Help coordinate pre-employment requirements and onboarding documentation
  • Support manager onboarding responsibilities
  • Assist with 30-, 60-, and 90-day new-hire follow-up

Who You Are

You're an experienced HR professional who enjoys being in the business and with the people.

You can recruit a nurse in the morning, coach a manager through an employee issue in the afternoon, and help improve an onboarding process before the end of the day.

You are comfortable working independently, but you also know when to bring in additional HR support. You build strong relationships with leaders while still maintaining consistency, good judgment, and appropriate HR boundaries.

Most importantly, you understand that great HR isn't just about policies—it's about helping leaders build strong teams so they can deliver exceptional care.

Requirements
