This is a permanent, full-time position. Benefits include group insurance, retirement savings, and wellness days.

Your Impact

  • Lead the application of Human Factors principles, standards, and regulatory frameworks within complex rail and transit system designs.
  • Guide and mentor project teams in Human Factors methods, ensuring technical excellence and consistent project delivery.
  • Conduct Task Analyses, Cognitive Task Analyses, and detailed Workload Assessments to optimize user performance and system safety.
  • Execute End User Analyses, Ergonomic Assessments, Usability Evaluations, Accessibility Reviews, Sightline Analyses, and Training Needs Analyses.

  • Define and evaluate Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMI), Human‑Computer Interfaces (HCI), and alarm/control systems for seamless operability.
  • Develop Human Factors evidence packages and author comprehensive HF analysis reports to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards (ISO, ANSI/HFES, EN).
  • Support development and review of Operations & Maintenance documentation, training approaches, and user‑focused training tools.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Ergonomics, or a closely related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive Human Factors and Ergonomics experience, ideally supporting transportation or safety‑critical environments.
  • Proficiency with HF methods including TA, CTA, HEI, HRA, TNA, and HITL approaches.
  • Strong familiarity with relevant Human Factors standards and regulatory frameworks (ISO, ANSI/HFES, EN).
  • Experience contributing to or leading Human Factors programs in rail or transit projects (asset).
  • Eligibility for P.Eng. considered an advantage.
  • Ability to engage directly with clients, defend Human Factors positions, and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
