In this role, you'll:

  • Work as part of a team to deliver Human Factors (HF) system integration across projects and business‑as‑usual activities.
  • Identify and develop HF initiatives that support continuous improvement, innovation, and improved safety outcomes.
  • Provide HF expertise to strengthen safety culture across the organisation.
  • Manage and deliver technical HF leadership across multiple projects and HF reviews.
  • Perform HF integration and assurance tasks to support project delivery.
  • Identify, monitor, and address Human Factors issues.
  • Lead improvements in HF foundations and practices.
  • Develop and integrate HF requirements into project and system design processes.
  • Prepare HF technical reports and conduct Human Factors analyses.
  • Represent the HF team in stakeholder forums, project discussions, and cross‑functional engagements.
  • Lead HF processes that support transformational change in a complex environment with diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Manage competing priorities while ensuring HF assurance requirements are met.

About you

  • Strong demonstrated ability in applying HF techniques in complex, high‑reliability environments.
  • Strong experience in consultation, facilitation and representing Human Factors in a variety of internal and external stakeholder situations.
  • Skilled at identifying and addressing Human Factors challenges, managing resistance to change, and integrating contemporary good‑practice approaches to improve system safety.
  • Highly skilled at producing HF assurance artefacts and exhibiting knowledge of key design lifecycle HF requirements.
  • Ability to translate complex findings into practical design solutions.
  • Recognised as an ethical, professional communicator who translates technical information effectively and engages stakeholders through workshops and collaboration.
  • Experienced in analysing performance issues, preparing HF technical reports, and contributing to continuous improvement across Transport for NSW. Multi modal transport experience is highly desirable.
  • Recognised as being an integral part of an HF team providing support and guidance to fellow team members.
