Trane is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for a talented professional to join our team as a Senior HR Generalist for our Engineering & Technology Centers in India (India ETCs). In this pivotal role, you will play the role of functional specialist providing support to the HR business partners and leaders. As a Senior HR Generalist, you will collaborate closely with the HRBPs, talent acquisition team, HR solutions team, T&OC team and total rewards team to meet your deliverables.

Where is the work:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (4 or more days onsite per week) based out of Bangalore.

What will you do:

The Senior HR Generalist is a newly created, future-focused role within the India ETCs HR team. This role will serve as the analytics, AI, and operational backbone of the India ETCs HR team.

People Analytics & Data-Driven HR

  • Build and maintain India HR dashboards and people analytics reports — tracking key metrics across talent, engagement, retention, and capability
  • Translate HR data into actionable insights for HRBPs and business leaders — moving from activity metrics to business impact metrics
  • Develop predictive analytics models — attrition risk, capability gap analysis, workforce planning
  • Support the India HR Director in building a data-driven HR reporting framework aligned to business outcomes

AI for HR

  • Lead the AI pilot initiative for India HR — identify use cases, evaluate tools, and drive adoption across the HR team within the framework, guidelines defined by the IT team.
  • Explore and implement AI-powered tools for talent acquisition support, learning personalization, and HR operations
  • Build AI literacy within the India HR team — training, enablement, and ongoing support
  • Stay current on AI and HR technology trends — bring relevant innovations to the India HR function

HR Operations & Standard Work

  • Absorb and manage operational HRBP work from the ETC HR team thereby enabling HRBPs
  • Maintain and improve HR standard work processes — LEAN mindset, continuous improvement
  • Manage HR operational processes including data management, reporting cycles, and compliance tracking
  • Drive and track completion of PDC (Performance & Development Connection) – goals setting, development planning, career conversations and year end performance review processes for India ETCs.

HR Projects & Initiatives

  • Partner with HRBP to support the rollout of the Technical Competency Framework across ETC teams.
  • Contribute to the Career Progression Framework — data tracking, mobility analytics, and reporting.
  • Support talent review preparation — data compilation, analytics, and presentation support.
  • Drive special HR projects as assigned by the India HR Director.

What you will bring:

  • Over 10+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably within Global Capability Centres (GCCs), IT/ITES companies.
  • Postgraduate degree in business management with a specialization in HR.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, along with a self-starter mindset.
  • An innovative approach to improve processes and solve problems.
  • Experienced in HR data analytics and dashboards.
  • Experience in leveraging AI for HR.
  • Experience in working with Workday HCM.
  • HR program management experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of current talent trends and practices.
