Job Description

Coro is a cybersecurity company that’s scaled rapidly over the past several years and is now in a phase of optimizing how we operate. This role is the senior people partner to our R&D organization - a globally distributed team of roughly 100 people building the platform that protects thousands of mid-market customers.

We’re looking for a strategic, business-oriented Senior HRBP to be the trusted people partner to our R&D leadership. You’ll execute the global People strategy and roadmap and bring it to life across the R&D organization: coaching senior managers, supporting organizational design and change, driving performance and retention in a competitive technical talent market, and helping us continue to evolve from “scaling fast” to “scaling smart.” You’ll have significant local autonomy in how you execute and partner with R&D leaders day-to-day, while operating as a connected member of the global People team.

Requirements

This is a strategic HRBP role first. Office management and on-site employee experience are part of the scope, but they are not the center of gravity - we expect you to lead them efficiently while keeping your focus on business partnership.

What You’ll Do

Strategic HR Business Partnership (primary focus)

  • Serve as the senior people partner to R&D leadership - VPs, directors, and engineering managers
  • Translate business strategy into people strategy for the R&D org globally - workforce planning, org design, succession, performance, and retention
  • Coach managers through complex performance, feedback, and employee relations situations
  • Partner with the CPO and the broader People team on company-wide programs, ensuring they land well across the R&D org

Organizational Design & Change Management

  • Lead organizational changes within the R&D org - restructures, team realignments, leveling, role consolidation - with sound judgment on legal, cultural, and morale considerations
  • Identify org risks (key-person dependencies, knowledge gaps, span-of-control issues) and build mitigation plans
  • Drive the people side of efficiency initiatives as Coro continues to optimize post-growth

Talent, Performance & Retention

  • Partner with R&D leaders on talent reviews, calibration, and development planning for engineers, researchers, and managers
  • Own compensation conversations within R&D, including offers for senior hires and annual cycles
  • Build and execute retention strategy across the R&D org, with attention to the competitive Israeli tech labor market

Talent Acquisition Partnership

  • Partner with recruiting on R&D roles - role scoping, interview design, and closing
  • Workforce planning with R&D leadership: headcount, backfills, and team scaling

Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations

  • Own onboarding, lifecycle changes, and offboarding for direct R&D employees end-to-end
  • Ensure compliance with Israeli labor law and partner with external counsel as needed
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Legal on people processes that cross functions
  • Anticipate scale: this footprint may grow, and we want a partner who helps us think through the people, structural, and risk implications

Office, Events & Employee Experience

  • Oversee the Israel office - vendor management, building relationships, supplies, and logistics - leveraging external support where possible so it doesn’t consume your strategic time
  • Sponsor on-site employee experience: events, happy hours, all-hands logistics, and culture moments
  • Note: We expect this work to be run efficiently rather than be a primary focus. Resources and support are available.

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, business-oriented Senior HRBP to be the trusted people partner to our R&D leadership. You’ll execute the global People strategy and roadmap and bring it to life across the R&D organization: coaching senior managers, supporting organizational design and change, driving performance and retention in a competitive technical talent market, and helping us continue to evolve from “scaling fast” to “scaling smart.” You’ll have significant local autonomy in how you execute and partner with R&D leaders day-to-day, while operating as a connected member of the global People team.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years as a Senior HRBP or equivalent
  • Experience in tech startups or scale-ups, ideally companies that have gone through rapid growth and/or restructuring - you’ve seen what good and bad change management looks like
  • Direct experience supporting R&D / engineering organizations - cybersecurity R&D is a strong plus
  • Track record supporting 100+ employees in Israel in a prior role, with strong working knowledge of Israeli labor law, market practices, and equity/compensation norms
  • Experience leading a population that sits outside the traditional employment relationship (contracted teams, EOR-employed teams, or distributed agency-engaged staff) including performance, development, and engagement, not just operational management
  • Demonstrated strategic mindset - you operate as a business partner to senior leaders, not just an HR generalist
  • Strong judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes situations (terminations, restructures, leadership conflicts)
  • Comfortable as the senior HR presence on the ground while plugged into a global People team
  • Fluent English and Hebrew
