YOUR ROLE

The Senior HR Business Partner - Shared Services will provide trusted, commercially focused HR leadership and strategic partnering to the Shared Services function, working closely with senior leaders to develop and deliver people strategies that support business performance, organisational effectiveness and employee engagement.

The role will act as a strategic advisor, translating business priorities into effective people solutions including performance, succession, engagement, employee relations, leadership development and change.

In addition, the role will have overall responsibility for overseeing and managing the organisation’s Learning & Development (L&D) activities, ensuring that learning solutions are aligned to business priorities and support individual development.

As a senior member of the co-located HR team, the role will work closely with the HR Director, HR colleagues and senior stakeholders to ensure a consistent, high quality and commercially focused people agenda.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The Senior HR Business Partner – Shared Services is accountable for leading the delivery of all employee lifecycle activity, including the leadership of HR Shared Services team and maintenance & continued innovation of associated processes, policies and systems.

Your key areas of accountability will include:

Strategic HR Business Partnering

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and Shared Services team, acting as a credible strategic HR advisor.
  • Develop and implement people strategies aligned to business objectives and organisational priorities.
  • Provide strategic insight and challenge to leaders on people and organisational matters.
  • Use people data, workforce analytics and market insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Provide regular people insights and recommendations to HRD and SLT team.
  • Support the development of a high performance, inclusive and engaged culture.

People and Resources

  • Lead the HR Shared Service team to deliver a comprehensive and efficient HR employee lifecycle experience to colleagues, Managers and key stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop the team to think innovatively and creatively, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment.
  • Ensure processes and systems are effectively maintained, and in doing so ensuring policies and processes meet the relevant legislative requirements;
  • Work in partnership with Talent Acquisition Business Partner and Payroll to oversee recruitment & onboarding administration and payroll activity.

HR Data Management

  • Ensuring all HR Data management systems and practices are accurately maintained;
  • Timely delivery of a suite of HR MI Reports to HR Director, Senior Leadership team and Group Head Office to provide key business insights (i.e. headcount, absence management, L&D, attrition, DE&I metrics etc);
  • Oversee FTE, Headcount and organisational chart reporting.
  • Continually review and identify most effective ways to manage, handle, input, share and process HR data securely, identifying and implementing continuous improvements where there is opportunity to do so.

HR Policy

  • Oversee maintenance of all HR policies and manage the communication across the UK and Ireland businesses;
  • Provide guidance on employment legislation matters, supporting in remedial action & meetings where necessary;
  • Well networked, proactively keeping abreast of current HR trends, issues and best practice and applying these to ways of working at CMA-CGM.
  • Overseeing visa and immigration activity to ensure full legal compliance

Compensation and Benefits

  • Build relationships with 3rd party benefit providers and brokers to ensure best service, price and offering for all colleague benefits;
  • Ensure that all policies and schemes are renewed in the most cost-effective and timely manner;
  • Co-ordinate all pension activity and administration, overseeing governance process and ensuring UK and Ireland business compliance;
  • Work with Head Office Compensation & Benefits team to identify economies of scale and Group alignment of benefits where possible;
  • Oversee administration process for annual salary & bonus process.
  • Management of payroll bureau relationship

Learning & Development Leadership

  • Oversee and manage all Learning & Development activities across the UK & Ireland, ensuring alignment with Group L&D strategy.
  • Develop and maintain the overall L&D strategy, framework and annual learning plan.
  • Work with HRBP’s and senior leaders to identify development needs and translate these into effective learning interventions.
  • Oversee the design, procurement, delivery and evaluation of learning programmes.
  • Manage relationships with external L&D providers and training partners.
  • Ensure effective governance of the L&D budget, including monitoring expenditure and return on investment.
  • Management of apprenticeship levy
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Provide regular reporting and recommendations to the HR Director
  • Ensure learning activity is appropriately recorded, evaluated and governed.

Other HR duties as required;

  • Coordination and administration of seasonal projects, such as:
  • Engagement Survey - analyse engagement survey results, and employee feedback to identify priorities.
  • Focus groups e.g. to improve benefits offering
  • Performance appraisal process
  • Strategic projects as required

WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY | KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience within a HR Shared Services environment.
  • Team management & leadership experience in a HRSS environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with experience of comprehensive people data management and analysis;
  • Project Management
  • Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality;
  • Resilience, with the confidence to work in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent time management and prioritising skills, with the flexibility to work to often challenging deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently communicate and influence at all levels; verbally, in writing and via presentations

Practical and technical knowledge

  • Excellent IT literacy (especially MS Excel)
  • Innovative and creative approach, with demonstrable experience of identifying and implementing continuous improvement to existing ways of working;
  • Solutions focused
  • Knowledge/ experience of using AI in a HR environment for continuous improvement
  • Comprehensive knowledge and awareness of current employment law legislation
  • Experience of working with Workday and/or Success Factors would be very advantageous

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
  • HR/ Law related degree (advantageous, but not essential)
  • Payroll experience (advantageous, but not essential)
