Department

EDF Trading's Human Resources team are based in London and Houston and provide a full range of HR support to all the Company’s offices.

Position purpose

The Senior HRBP serves as a strategic advisor to the trading desks and leadership. You will align the people strategy with commercial objectives in a volatile market.

Main responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory Act as a trusted partner to Senior Traders and Heads of Desk, providing data-driven insights to influence business decisions, workforce planning, and organizational design.
  • Organizational Development: Lead initiatives in organizational design, workforce planning, and cultural transformation to improve efficiency.
  • Talent & Succession Planning: Drive talent management strategies, including identifying high-potential employees and establishing robust succession plans.
  • Risk & Compliance Management Partner with Legal and Compliance to mitigate people-related risks, including conduct, regulatory changes, and employee relations in highly regulated environments.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Leverage HR analytics and workforce metrics to identify trends, pre-empt future challenges, and measure program effectiveness.
  • Coaching & Leadership: Coach senior leaders to enhance their people management capabilities and mentor junior members of the HR team.
  • HR Project Leadership lead in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.

Experience required

The ideal candidate will be a highly credible individual with a proven track record in developing, managing and implementing HR strategies across a range of business areas.

Deep understanding of the commodity lifecycle, trading P&L, risk management (VaR, hedging), and the impact of global events on market volatility.

They will have a broad range of HR experience and will be happy to do a mix of operational and strategic work.

Technical requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience of utilising HR systems (Workday)
  • Strong understanding of employment law.
  • High level of proficiency in digital HR tools
