Position Specific Description
A detail-oriented and analytical Senior HR Advisor – Accommodations & Return Services to provide strategic guidance, oversight, and data-driven insights for disability compliance programs, including the interactive process under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), reasonable accommodation management, return-to-work programs, accommodation effectiveness tracking, fitness-for-duty reviews, and emerging accessibility requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in ADA compliance, employee relations, case management, data analytics, and working knowledge of the Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) within a large, fast-paced corporate environment, preferably in the utility or energy sector. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate sensitive, customer-facing discussions and deliver training presentations to diverse business units across the enterprise. The Senior HR Advisor will collaborate closely with other HR functional areas and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless coordination, communication, and integrated service delivery. This position requires exceptional adaptability as technology and assignments evolve rapidly, with a focus on embracing AI and emerging technologies to enhance accommodation workflows, predictive analytics for disability trends, and proactive inclusion strategies. Serve as a senior advisor and subject matter expert on ADA, PWFA, FMLA, and disability-related compliance matters. Lead complex accommodation and interactive process cases from intake through resolution, including medical documentation review and solution design. Oversee return-to-work programs and serve as the primary liaison for leaders on accommodation and fitness-for-duty matters. Partner with Legal, HR Business Partners, and leadership on complex cases and risk mitigation strategies. Manage relationships with leave and disability vendors; monitor performance and resolve escalated issues. Ensure accurate documentation, audit readiness, and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Design and deliver training on disability laws, accommodation processes, and inclusive practices. Mentor junior HR advisors and support development of consistent practices. Drive process improvement through data analysis, automation, and AI-enabled tools. Experience managing complex accommodation, return-to-work, and fitness-for-duty cases Understanding of STD, LTD, and vendor-managed leave programs Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to change Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; interest in AI and emerging technologies HR or disability management certification (SHRM, PHR/SPHR, CDMS, CCM) Experience in utility, energy, or other regulated industries Familiarity with ADA case law, EEOC guidance, and accommodation technology platforms Experience with analytics, process improvement, or automation tools Background in union or collective bargaining environmentsKey Responsibilities
