Job Description

The Lead Host is considered the senior host who greets guests and ensures an impactful and memorable restaurant experience from start to finish. The Maître D reports to the Restaurant Manager.

  • Greets guests as they arrive at the restaurant; gathers any pertinent information; delivers guests to the front of house team
  • Oversees the seating of and menu presentation to all guests, ensuring high-quality service
  • Supports the management team by providing training of all new hosts
  • Takes reservations over the telephone, through emails, and in person; records all reservations properly in the system
  • Manages and maximizes the reservation book
  • Answers guests’ questions
  • Creates and communicates daily floor plans
  • Highlights problem areas with hosts or seating flow and develops solutions
  • Demonstrates a positive, smiling, empowering, and motivational attitude
  • Delegates effectively with a sense of professionalism
  • Oversees the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant entrance
  • Ensures all supplies required to keep the front end of the restaurant running are always available
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Compensation: The hourly compensation for this role is $20 - $23 per hour + tips

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a high-volume restaurant
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
