Senior Highway Design Engineer – Full-Time

A well-established, multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm is seeking a Senior Highway Design Engineer to join its growing transportation team. With a legacy of excellence in civil, municipal, and land development engineering, this position offers a unique opportunity to lead and contribute to complex roadway infrastructure projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead the design of roadway and highway projects, including horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage, guide rail, signage, striping, access management, ROW, and MPT

• Conduct roadway safety audits and inspections, preparing detailed analysis and improvement recommendations.

• Prepare and oversee the development of plans, reports, specifications, estimates, and bid documents

• Collaborate with internal teams and external subconsultants on multi-disciplinary projects.

• Conduct field visits during project execution and construction phases to support client needs.

• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with agency standards.

• Represent the firm in client meetings and assist in client development efforts.

Client Support

• Maintain and build client relationships by delivering high-quality engineering solutions within budget and schedule.

• Actively support proposal development and project scoping.

Team Mentorship

• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on design standards, best practices, and career growth.

• Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that supports technical development
