Job Description

At Transgrid, we connect electricity across NSW and the National Electricity Market, supporting Australia’s transition to a cleaner energy future. The Hunter Transmission Project (HTP) is a critical initiative delivering new transmission infrastructure to unlock renewable energy zones, strengthen network reliability, and support long-term energy security across NSW. As part of HTP, you will join a high-performing Major Projects team delivering complex infrastructure that will play a significant role in Australia’s energy transition and future network capability.

About the role

As Senior Heritage Business Partner, you will lead Aboriginal cultural heritage and historic heritage strategy across the Hunter Transmission Project, providing specialist advice to support planning approval compliance, heritage management obligations and effective risk management throughout project delivery.

The role partners closely with Aboriginal stakeholders, Registered Aboriginal Parties, regulators, landholders, consultants, contractors and project teams, requiring strong technical expertise, sound judgement and the ability to influence outcomes in a complex major project environment.

About you

We're looking for an experienced heritage professional with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. You are comfortable working in complex environments where heritage, environmental, engineering, land access, community and construction considerations need to be carefully balanced. Requirements include:

  • Degree qualification in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Experience managing Aboriginal cultural and/or historic heritage on major infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NSW heritage legislation, planning approvals and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience engaging with Aboriginal stakeholders and managing heritage consultation processes.
  • Ability to review heritage assessments, management plans and consultant deliverables.
  • Experience managing heritage risks across project planning, design and construction.
  • Current driver's licence.

Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation.
