Job Description

You’re only human.

It’s a strange thing to say, because us humans are capable of incredible things. And at Medibank, we know our greatest potential lies in the people who work with us.

We strive to make real, fundamental change, driven by a simple purpose: to create the best health and wellbeing for all of Australia.

At Medibank, we're committed to creating the best health and wellbeing for Australia. We're looking for a commercially minded and strategically focused Senior Healthcare Analytics Analyst to join our Provider Analytics team and help shape decisions that deliver value for both our customers and the broader healthcare system.

The opportunity

This is a senior analytics role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems and influencing strategic decisions through data-driven insights.

Rather than focusing on routine reporting or dashboard development, you'll work on high-impact strategic initiatives, assessing the financial and commercial implications of new healthcare programs, funding models and provider strategies. You'll build dynamic models, evaluate potential business impacts, and provide recommendations that help guide key investment and funding decisions.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across Healthcare, Strategy, Finance and Provider teams, you'll be comfortable navigating ambiguity, connecting the dots, and seeing the bigger picture.

What you'll be doing

  • Driving analytics support for strategic healthcare projects and initiatives.
  • Developing financial and commercial models to assess new healthcare initiatives, funding approaches and pricing changes.
  • Providing insights and recommendations to support provider and healthcare strategies.
  • Assessing business impacts, risks and opportunities associated with strategic initiatives.
  • Supporting hospital funding and provider-related initiatives through robust data analysis.
  • Translating complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partnering with a broad range of stakeholders to influence decision-making and outcomes.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members within a collaborative team environment.

About you

You are a strong analytical thinker who enjoys tackling complex and sometimes ambiguous challenges. You can confidently move between detailed analysis and strategic thinking, helping stakeholders understand both the numbers and the broader business implications.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in analytics, commercial modelling, economics, finance, data science or a similar quantitative role.
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills with experience developing complex financial and scenario-based models.
  • Experience with SAS, SQL or similar analytical tools (SAS experience is highly regarded, but not essential).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • The confidence to work independently, manage competing priorities and navigate ambiguity.
  • Healthcare, health insurance or broader health sector experience would be highly regarded.

Why work with us?

At Medibank, you'll join a purpose-led organisation where your work has real impact. You'll be part of a supportive and high-performing team with a strong culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.
