Senior Health & Safety Specialist

Location: Augusta, GA area (worksite in Graniteville, SC)

Pay Rate: $90,000 – $120,000 per year

Position Overview

A fast-paced, safety-first production facility is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Specialist to own and improve its health and safety programs. This permanent, onsite role partners with manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, and plant leadership to reduce hazards and strengthen safety culture. The position offers independence, visibility, and the stability of a global manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and standards
• Partner with manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards and occupational health risks
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and workplace inspections to ensure regulatory and company compliance
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence of injuries, illnesses, and near misses
• Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, injury trends, workers' compensation data, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements and company policies
• Coordinate regulatory inspections and serve as the liaison with health and safety agencies and external stakeholders
• Develop and deliver health and safety training for teammates, contractors, and leaders
• Support emergency preparedness, emergency response planning, and crisis management
• Facilitate safety committees and engagement initiatives that promote teammate involvement and accountability
• Lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives with limited supervision

Requirements

• Working knowledge of OSHA and other applicable health and safety regulations
• Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently
• Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels of the organization
• Ability to work onsite at the plant
