About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
As a Senior Health Commissioning Insights Analyst, you will operate as a strategic partner to commissioning, commercial and clinical leaders—helping them understand what is happening across the system, why it is happening, and what should change as a result. You will work across health markets, service lines, and client cohorts to uncover the drivers of performance and identify opportunities to improve outcomes, equity, and system sustainability. This role goes beyond traditional reporting, focusing on interrogating system performance and influencing decisions—from provider behaviour through to investment choices.

You’ll play a pivotal role in analysing system performance, identifying drivers of variation, and translating insights into actions that improve outcomes for New Zealanders.

  • Identify and explain variation between providers, services and client groups—moving beyond “what” to “why”.
  • Diagnose root causes of performance issues and pinpoint where intervention is needed.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, compelling advice for senior decision-makers.
  • Support commissioning teams to design targeted interventions, contract changes, and market responses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve outcomes across key client cohorts, including equity-focused analysis.
  • Partner with analytics and product teams to develop tools that support better decision-making.
  • Contribute to building a more performance-led culture across ACC.

The appointing salary for this role is $101,287 – $131,077 based on experience ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.
