We are currently seeking a qualified SeniorHardware Compliance Engineerto join our team.
Location: Ottawa, ON Work Arrangement: On-site
Responsibilities
Become a key contributing member of the design team to meet EMI/EMC goals on avionics products.
Analyze requirements, provide compliance review and identify risk.
Establish internal lab capabilities to de-risk designs for formal compliance testing.
Perform de-risking activities, may be internal or offsite.
Coordinate and witness formal compliance activities, typically at external offsite laboratories.
Provide input to design and reviews in support of successful compliance.
Generate reports to capture tests performed and summarize results.
Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.
Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
Strong experience in hardware compliance, EMI/EMC testing, and hands on lab testing for products that meet relevant standards in Industrial, MIL, or Aerospace electronic design.
Works directly with the design teams to achieve designs optimized for EMI/EMC performance targeting signal filtering, grounding, mechanical chassis features for best design practice.
A strong understanding and familiarity with relevant industry standards which include:
EMI/C to MIL-STD-461 and DO-160
Laboratory Equipment: Spectrum Analyzers, LISN, Oscilloscopes, Antennas, Power Supplies
Cable design and assembly techniques for EMI/C
