Overview

Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND‑01 Alpha, our rapidly developed humanoid platform now running in real industrial pilots, and we’re growing the team to take it even further.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Group Accountant to join our Finance team in London. Reporting to the Global Financial Controller, you will be responsible for monthly and statutory reporting and group consolidation across our global entities, and will help build the reporting, close and audit processes that carry Humanoid from high-growth startup to public-company standards. This is a hands-on role for a technically strong, audit-trained accountant who wants their work to become the foundation of a global finance function.

What You’ll Do

Reporting, Close and Consolidation

  • Run the month-end and year-end close to the group close calendar, including journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and payroll postings, and own full balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting and support the wider reporting pack for internal and external stakeholders, including leadership, investors, lenders and auditors.
  • Operate and improve the group consolidation across all entities, including intercompany reconciliation and eliminations, and multi-currency translation.
  • Prepare group cash flow reporting and supporting schedules, working with FP&A and Treasury as the function grows.

Technical Accounting

  • Own technical accounting assessments and prepare accounting papers and memos on judgemental areas and complex transactions.
  • Develop accounting policies across revenue, inventory, R&D, leases and share-based payments as the business scales.
  • Lead the accounting for inventory and manufacturing costs as we move from R&D and prototypes into production, including standard costing, cost of sales and stock provisioning.
  • Support the transition of group reporting from FRS 102 to IFRS.

Statutory Reporting and Audit

  • Prepare UK statutory financial statements and support local filings across our other jurisdictions alongside external advisors.
  • Own the external audit process end to end, including PBC lists, auditor relationships and technical position papers.

Controls, Systems and Process

  • Build and document internal controls as the group scales, ensuring we stay compliant and are ready for the reporting standards expected of a public company.
  • Document processes and controls as you build them, and play a central role in our ERP build-out and finance systems integrations.
  • Use AI and modern workflow tooling to accelerate the close, automate reconciliation and reporting, and find efficiencies across the function.
  • Collaborate end to end across the finance team and the wider business, including tax, FP&A, finance operations, supply chain and people teams, picking up work that falls outside the standard remit as an early-stage company.

What We’re Looking For

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (CIMA considered), ideally audit-firm trained, with 4+ years’ relevant post-qualified or equivalent accounting experience across multi-entity, multi-currency groups, ideally including US entities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS, with experience preparing statutory accounts, drafting technical papers and managing external audits end to end.
  • Hands-on close and consolidation experience, comfortable owning journals, reconciliations, intercompany and eliminations rather than only reviewing them.
  • Experience with inventory and cost accounting, standard costing or cost centre reporting in a manufacturing, physical goods or high-volume environment.
  • A builder’s mindset, with experience in a high-growth environment where process, controls and documentation still need to be created.
  • Comfortable in a modern finance stack, using AI and automation to speed up close and reporting; ERP implementation experience (SAP, NetSuite or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience in a venture-backed startup or scale-up, ideally hardware, robotics or deep tech, is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Competitive equity: stock options with meaningful upside as we scale.
  • 30+ paid days off, including 23 days of annual leave, all UK bank holidays, and additional company closure days (including Christmas to New Year shutdown).
  • Private healthcare, including virtual and in-person care.
  • Pension scheme with 8% total contribution (5% employee, 3% employer) on full earnings.
  • Free daily breakfast, catered lunch, and snacks in-office.
  • Work at the frontier: collaborate daily with world-class engineers, researchers, and product experts building the next generation of AI and humanoid robotics.
  • Real ownership: direct access to leadership, meaningful input, and the ability to drive key initiatives from day one.

About Humanoid

In a world where artificial intelligence opens up new horizons, our faith in its potential unveils a new outlook where, together, humans and machines build a new future filled with knowledge, inspiration, and incredible discoveries.

The development of a functional humanoid robot underpins an era of abundance and well-being where poverty will disappear, and people will be able to choose what they want to do.

We can imagine millions of bipedal robots doing more work than all human labour does today freeing people from the servitude of some repetitive and boring tasks that nobody likes to perform.

We believe that we have enough abundance to take care of everyone who is displaced. Eventually, providing a universal basic income will lead to the true evolution of our civilization.

Labor shortages loom, as the demands on our built environment rise. With the world’s workforce increasingly moving away from undesirable tasks, the manufacturing, construction, and logistics industries critical to our daily lives are left exposed.

By deploying our general-purpose humanoid robots in environments deemed hazardous or monotonous, we envision a future where human well-being is safeguarded while closing the gaps in critical global labour needs.
