Job Description

The Role (Purpose)

Your purpose in the Senior Designer role, is to create outstanding creative that promotes brand integrity and help inspire and delight our clients by taking them beyond their expectations. You will lead one of more design projects, and in addition to designing you will oversee quality control, ensuring deadlines are met, and coordinate release of art files as necessary. You will be able to inspire and drive great design from yourself and those around you. As an expert in your craft and experienced designer, you will also be providing creative mentorship to the mid weight and junior designers.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Design Director(s) & Creative Director(s) and assist in creative development across multiple projects and brands
  • Helps coordinate and manage their own work or delegation of work with junior designers based upon review of project requirements and designer skills and strengths
  • Work closely with the client services and creative team to strengthen customer relationships.
  • Manage projects from concept to completion, helping to deliver to our customers the ‘best + beyond’ creative solution in the most efficient manner.
  • Creates outstanding design concepts and smart solutions that are on-brand and consistently consider the wholistic brand experience through design
  • Carries creative projects from idea to execution, taking responsibility for the process and creative output internally and externally
  • Enthusiastically acts as brand expert for projects and interprets parameters, while also pushing and questioning briefs where clarity is needed or opportunity exists
  • Quickly explores & edits designs concepts to focus in on the best ideas
  • Work on creative projects in isolation as well as a part of a team to inspire and drive great design from those around you, particularly directing and mentoring junior and mid weight members of the creative force.
  • Is prepared for internal creative reviews and ensures all materials are organized and ready for review
  • Present creative work with clarity both internally and externally direct to clients and in doing so project the passion and insight that helps make these ideas both relevant, unique and creatively inspiring.
  • Work collaboratively and passionately adopting a agile approach to clients and projects and tailoring design tasks to suit the needs of each brief.
  • Effectively collaborate with all internal teams both Design, as well as Strategy, Client Services, representing the voice for the design team
  • Seeks inspiration in unlikely places and passionately brings those inspirations into their design.
  • Act as a brand guardian for assigned projects and be a fountain of knowledge to your peers
  • Comfortable presenting creative work with clarity both internally and externally direct to clients and in doing so project the passion and insight that helps make these ideas both relevant, unique and creatively inspiring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or similar degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in creative or design within an agency or in-house creative team
  • Located close to the local region office for frequent meetings and working sessions
  • Creative experience across a wide variety of applications, from brand design, brand VIS-ID ecosystems and guidelines, packaging design, instore and e-comm marketing, concept visuals, key visuals, photo & video art direction
  • Experience using collaboration tools like Miro or Figma
  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Digital portfolio required at time of application
  • Hybrid position that would require occasion trips into office locations and various in-person meetings as needed
  • Fluent English speaker - bilingual or professional proficiency
  • A high level of competence of Adobe Creative Suite Apps, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Familiarity with AI and a desire to keep up with the latest technology and AI capabilities
  • Ability to interact with creative and account management teams, generating impactful motion solutions built on solid strategic foundations
  • Ability to think independently, self-start, and run projects from start to finish in a remote environment
  • Ability to interpret and interrogate creative briefs
  • Ability to bounce back from feedback and deliver creative solutions
  • People skills that build confidence and trust with clients and collaborators
