Job Description

The Customer Design team, a branch of the MOO Creative Department, is a group of highly talented and efficient graphic designers primarily tasked with servicing our valuable Business Customers.
MOO is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Senior Graphic Designer to join the company’s fast-growing Customer Design function and to manage a team of designers. As our customer base continues to grow, this role will help the team keep up with demand, creating engaging designs across MOO's product range that help bring our customers' brands to life.
This is an exciting opportunity in our Capetown hub for a senior level graphic designer who can produce high-quality design work under tight deadlines and an experienced people manager who can lead a team of junior and mid-weight graphic designers. This role requires creativity, a keen eye for detail, organization, and proven leadership skills.

  • Create bespoke designs for MOO Business Customers across our full product range that exhibit an adherence to brand guidelines and production specifications
  • Act as a communication lead for partnering teams such as Sales, Customer Success and Operations to troubleshoot design requests, manage project timelines and mitigate customer escalations
  • Ability to quality check and spot on screen file issues to problem solve any customer print and/or design issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to produce winning RFP responses under tight deadlines
  • Independently design and/or delegate and project manage all Sales Enablement resources, catalogs and tools
  • Consistently meet strict turnaround times on all assignments
  • Manage a team of multiple junior and mid-weight graphic designers with a commitment to improving their performance and fostering their professional growth

  • Please note that the hours of this role are 2-11pm to cover US working hours

About you

  • Expert knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Advanced retouching skills - ability to incorporate changes on raw files
  • Advanced presentation skills - ability to both build presentations and present to our internal and external customers
  • Fanatical about the smallest of details
  • Demonstrated digital print knowledge and experience working with digital presses including foil and UV printing
  • The ability to read, understand and question a brief to deliver exceptional work"
  • Advanced knowledge of typography and best practices for kerning, leading, tracking and font management
  • Advanced knowledge and awareness of current design and technology trends and how to apply them to customer design work
  • An appreciation of creative standards and design best practices"
  • Manages time and priorities effectively for both self and the team, balancing immediate needs with long-term impact
  • The ability to recognize challenges in workflow and/or processes and partner with leadership to implement improved solutions
  • Passionate about people – customers, internal stakeholders, and direct reports, alike"
  • The ability to give and receive constructive feedback to effectively complete design requests
  • Relevant design degree or equivalent experience in an artworking role
  • Portfolio required - examples of AI tool usage, a plus

  • Self-motivated and a team player
  • Ability to support team members’ growth through weekly 121's, performance reviews, constructive feedback, and advocacy for career development opportunities

  • 1-3 years of people management experience required
