The Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking a Tax Manager to join our Global Tax Department, located at our Montreal office and reporting to the Vice-President, Global Taxation.

Your Impact

• Manage the company’s tax provision process on an international level, including preparation and review of consolidated quarterly and annual income tax provisions (including true-up and 10 months hard close);
• Preparation and review of corporate income tax returns for the Canadian holding companies;
• Collaborate with internal professional team in preparing T106 and T1134 information returns;
• Preparation of consolidated forecasts of income tax expense, cash taxes and effective income tax rates to support internal and external reporting functions;
• Communicate with external auditors on the consolidated year-end tax provision calculation and related disclosures;
• Monitor legislative developments relevant to accounting and tax;
• Document treatment of significant tax accounting matters, tax related internal controls and accounting policies and procedures;
• Identify areas for process improvements and collaborate on various automation of tax processes and ongoing efforts to streamline operations;
• Involvement in various special projects (i.e. Acquisitions, income tax audits, and cross-border tax matters, Country-by-country report, Pillar II implementation, other ad hoc matters)

The skills that set you apart

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or accounting and holding CA, CPA designation;

• Masters in Taxation or Completion of CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program;

• Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in a large corporate environment, or from a firm with relevant experience;

• Bilingual English and French;

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);

• Proficiency with MS Office, (specifically Excel);

• Proficiency with Taxprep;

• Knowledge of Hyperion (an asset);

• Ability to multi-task and work in a constantly evolving and team-oriented environment;

• Have the desire to improve technically;

• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills;

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $162,200 – $212,200
MB & ON: $148,000 – $198,000
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $146,500 – $194,600

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
