Job Description

Smartwool & icebreaker are looking for an exceptional Senior Global Planner to join our SWIB Global Brand Planning team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Driven by the belief that nature has the answers, we provide natural performance alternatives to synthetic-based apparel, to create a healthier and more sustainable future for our species and the planet. We're passionate about connecting people to natural alternatives.

We continue to launch campaigns and activities to enable people to better understand how their clothes are made, what they are made of and how moving to natural alternatives can make a positive impact. The constant pursuit of better is what drives our progress. We're not perfect, but we're looking for solutions that make a positive difference.

Let’s Talk about the Role

You as Senior Global Planner will play a critical part in strengthening the global demand planning process across the SWIB portfolio, ensuring accurate collection, consolidation and analysis of demand data across regions, channels, brands and product categories.

You will support the translation of regional commercial inputs, financial targets and product strategies into a clear global demand view for our portfolio of brands. You will partner closely with regional planning teams, commercial stakeholders, finance, merchandising and global supply planning to provide reliable insights, highlight risks and opportunities, and enable better decision-making across the end-to-end planning cycle.

How You Will Make a Difference

You will achieve this by:

  • Coordinate the global demand planning data collection process across regions, channels, brands and product categories, ensuring timely and accurate input submission.

  • Consolidate regional demand inputs into one global demand view, identifying key variances versus financial targets, prior submissions and seasonal assumptions.

  • Analyse demand trends, forecast changes, style-color productivity, regional performance and channel mix to support strategic planning decisions.

  • Prepare clear reporting, dashboards and executive summaries to communicate demand movements, key drivers, risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders.

  • Partner with Regional Planning, Finance, Merchandising, Commercial teams and Global Supply Planning to ensure demand data is aligned with business priorities, financial guardrails and supply chain feasibility.

  • Support monthly and seasonal demand review milestones, including global forecast submissions, buy reviews, demand handover, long-range planning and inventory-related analysis.

  • Drive continuous improvement of demand planning tools, templates, processes and data governance, with a focus on simplification, consistency and decision-ready insights.

  • Proactively highlight forecast risks, data gaps, demand volatility and potential service or inventory impacts, recommending practical actions to mitigate business exposure.

Skills for Success

We are looking for a brilliant and proactive candidate, with:

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with large datasets

  • Solid experience in demand planning, merchandise planning, supply chain planning, business planning or a related analytical planning function.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with AI & Power BI

  • Ability to consolidate complex information into clear, structured and actionable communication

  • Strong collaboration skills and confidence in working across global and regional teams

  • Excellent attention to detail, data accuracy and process discipline

  • Curiosity, proactivity and continuous improvement mindset

  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
