Senior GIS Systems Developer (ArcGIS) – Hybrid | Ghent, Belgium

We are looking for an experienced senior GIS systems developer to support the ongoing development, administration, and optimization of a large-scale ArcGIS environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise GIS solutions, leveraging the latest ESRI technologies to enhance GIS operations within a major public-sector organization.

The successful candidate will combine strong software development expertise with deep knowledge of enterprise GIS infrastructure and ArcGIS administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, test, and debug enterprise GIS applications.
• Support and enhance GIS operations built on the ArcGIS platform.
• Administer and manage ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
• Configure and maintain ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online.
• Perform ArcGIS Enterprise installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and architectural improvements.
• Develop and optimize geospatial solutions using ArcGIS Pro and related technologies.
• Work with geocoding, vector and raster datasets, spatial data transformations, and database queries.
• Apply ArcGIS best practices, including server infrastructure, monitoring, load balancing, logging, patching, and update management.
• Collaborate within Agile development teams and provide technical leadership where required.
• Support operational management and continuous improvement of GIS platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing GIS systems.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as an ArcGIS platform administrator.
• Strong experience with:
  • ArcGIS Enterprise
  • ArcGIS Portal
  • ArcGIS Online
  • ArcGIS Pro
• Proven experience with:
  • Geocoding
  • Vector and raster graphics
  • Spatial data processing and rescaling
  • Database querying within GIS environments
• Experience managing ArcGIS Enterprise environments, including:
  • Installation
  • Upgrades
  • Troubleshooting
  • Architecture
• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Experience implementing ArcGIS infrastructure best practices.
• Experience with IDP (Identity Provider) integration.
• Excellent programming skills, including coding, testing, and debugging.
• Fluent Dutch language skills (CEFR Level C2).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with:

• Geocortex
• Vertigis
• Kibana Monitoring
• Agile software development methodologies
• ITIL best practices

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid working model
• Remote work available based on internal agreements
• Full-time assignment (100%)
• Approximately 2,000 working hours throughout the contract
