Senior Geologist - Discovery

• Be a Rock Star at Northern Star Resources, Kalgoorlie!
• Working a 5/2, 4/3 Kalgoorlie residential roster 10-hour days
• With focus on leading and coordinating our Discovery Geology Team

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Senior Geologist to join our residential Kalgoorlie team within the Discovery department.

Reporting to the Geology Superintendent – Discovery you will be responsible for leading the geology team in developing the next new Discoveries in Kalgoorlie. Guiding, and mentoring the next graduates and exploration geologists. Monitoring and managing drilling programs, field mapping activities, heritage surveys and geophysical surveys.

What you can look forward to:

• Provide leadership and guidance to the Discovery team.
• Coach all team members in best practice geological, safety and environmental protocols.
• Where possible contribute to the assessment of opportunities to improve the discovery rate or bring forward development of resources
• Manage contractors and suppliers engaged in exploration activities on the project area
• Supervise the team to ensure effective and timely QAQC management and validation of drill, geophysical and geochemical results

Where you’ll add value:

• Extensive experience as a Geologist in the resource industry, preferable in gold mining
• Proficient in Leapfrog and Acquire
• Proven leadership and contractor management
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification (minimum degree level) in geology
• Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Manual Drivers Licence.
