Job Description

For Linklaters Office in Warsaw, we are currently recruiting for the Senior General Ledger Specialist role.

Your role

  • Calculate, prepare and post specific and ad-hoc journal entries as part of Month End Close and day to day operations

  • Prepare Bank Reconciliations and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations (Assets and Liability accounts)

  • Maintain Fixed Asset Registers and calculate and post monthly depreciation charges

  • Act as deputy for the Team Leader in operational matters when required (e.g. daily coordination, issue escalation, contact for key stakeholders)

  • Responsible for performing Month End Close activities, in line with global and office specific policies

  • Coordinate statuses of deliverables versus the process calendar among other Team Members and reporting them to Clients

  • Propose and implement process improvements and tools automations to bring efficiency into General Ledger operations

  • Act as first point of contact for more complex General Ledger queries and issues raised by Local Finance Teams or LGS.

  • Ensure that service quality is maintained in performing daily operations within global General Ledger Department

  • Build excellent working relationships with the Finance and Shared Service staff in the local offices

  • Maintain high quality process documentation

Your experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in finance (preferably in General Ledger Department within other SSC/BPO’s)

  • Masters’ Degree in Finance and Accounting or related faculty, additional accounting qualifications nice to have

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, practices and procedures

  • Understanding of SLAs, KPIs, process documentation, SOPs

  • Office skills: SAP, Microsoft office, high competence in MS Excel

  • Fluent English
