Job Description

Title: Senior Fund Accountant / Assistant Manager (Corporate & GP Accounting)
Location: Bangalore
Work Timings: US shift (Night Shift)
Work Mode: Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to support the Corporate and GP accounting function of a U.S.-based alternative asset management business. The role will be responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, management fee accounting, payroll postings, intercompany accounting, and financial statement preparation while ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities for Corporate, Advisor, and GP entities.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll, accruals, prepayments, and recurring entries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and Budget vs. Actual variance analysis.
  • Record and reconcile management fee revenue and related receivables.
  • Prepare payroll and employee compensation accounting entries, including bonus and benefit accruals.
  • Perform G&A cost allocations across legal entities and business strategies.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and prepare intercompany journal entries.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate accounting variances.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in asset management, alternative investments, private equity/debt, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end close processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with accounting systems such as Yardi, Geneva, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
