Who we are looking for
We are looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to join GXE’s growing fund administration team in Melbourne.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning fund accounting outcomes across multiple clients, fund structures and asset classes. You will be responsible for delivering accurate fund accounting, management reporting, NAV and unit pricing work, while working closely with clients and internal teams to improve processes as GXE continues to scale.
This role would suit someone who has strong fund accounting experience, is comfortable working directly with clients, and enjoys the pace and accountability of a high-growth startup. You will initially operate as an individual contributor, with the opportunity to mentor junior accountants or graduates as the team grows.
Key Responsibilities
Success Metrics
In the first month, you will have built strong working relationships with your immediate team and the broader GXE team as well as key client stakeholders. You will understand GXE’s fund accounting workflows, client base, reporting requirements and current operational challenges.
Within three months, you will be independently managing core fund accounting deliverables for assigned clients, including reporting, NAV calculations, reconciliations and audit support. You will also be contributing to smoother client onboarding and reducing pressure on the existing team.
Over time, success will be measured by the accuracy and timeliness of fund accounting outputs, the quality of client communication, improved accounting processes, stronger audit readiness, and your contribution to building a scalable fund accounting function at GXE.
The team
You will report to the Head of Fund Administration, and work closely with the broader client operations and fund administration team.
You will also collaborate with Client Operations, other members of the GXE team, and GXE’s external accounting advisor.
As the accounting team grows, this role may have the opportunity to mentor and support junior accountants or graduates.

At GXE, our mission is to build the all-in-one platform for unlisted assets and funds management. We provide investors, fund managers, and family offices with the tools they need to succeed and enable them to focus on their portfolios and investors whilst GXE takes care of everything else.
A licensed financial services company, GXE holds Australian Financial Services Licence 460870 issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. GXE welcomes clients across sectors including corporate, family offices, pension and superannuation fund managers, private equity, property, and venture capital.
GXE was founded in 2020 (originally as Startup Galaxy) by Andrew Armstrong and Ed Hooper, after recognising a current market problem regarding existing friction costs and the lack of automation in early-stage investing in the Australian private investment market. Having previously co-founded Omnystudio, a leading SaaS provider of digital audio solutions and managed Cardinia Ventures, an early stage technology fund, Andrew and Ed saw an opportunity to redefine how alternative assets were managed to democratise, mature and streamline illiquid and private assets.
We are driven by a passion for innovation and a commitment to excellence, and we are proud to be building the future of alternative assets that empowers our clients to run their organisation and achieve their goals. Thank you for considering us as a partner, we look forward to working with you to build a brighter financial future.
