Rolls‑Royce SMR is here to transform how nuclear energy is delivered—cleaner, faster and at global scale. Our teams are developing one of the world’s most advanced small modular reactors, helping secure affordable, low‑carbon energy for generations to come.
We’re doing something that’s never been done before. We’re revolutionising an industry. That’s a once-in-a-career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.
We are seeking a skilled SAP functional specialist to join our team to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technical implementation and business needs. Their responsibilities encompass various stages of the programme lifecycle. You will be involved in a multi-year digital transformation, implementation, upgrade and support of SAP software solutions, reviewing the design proposals from third party consultants. Understanding business requirements and the configuration of the SAP solution to align with those requirements. Providing ongoing support and recommendations for improvements for the system. Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of SAP modules, excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, and experience in project management. Ultimately, the role of the SAP functional specialist is to ensure that our SAP solutions are effective, efficient, and aligned with our business processes.
We’ll need you to:
Link business process challenges and demand to process improvements and business benefits to influence and inform solutions to support the solution and technology strategies.
Ensure and validate consistent design and deployment of a given process and the standards for process performance.
Support compliance with and performance of the end-to-end process.
Work with business stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented and tested as designed.
Stay involved through programme delivery into live operations to make sure solutions stay on track and meet expectations.
Suggest improvement opportunities and optimise business processes
Build strong working relationships with business process leads, super users, other functional specialists, project managers, business analysts, architects and third party partners to support smooth delivery.
You’ll be joining a rapidly growing organisation at a critical stage of its development, offering excellent opportunities for learning, professional development, and long-term career progression within a purpose-driven and innovative environment.
The selection process will consist of staged interviews. Due to the nature of the role, successful candidates will be required to complete:

Climate change and its consequences are one of the greatest challenges ever to face mankind. The global challenge around decarbonisation is huge.
At Rolls-Royce SMR, our vision is simple – we want to provide clean, affordable energy for all.
A new approach to delivering nuclear power
Our Small Modular Reactor is an integrated power station, that takes well understood, existing nuclear technology and applies a factory-based philosophy to its fabrication and assembly.
This repeatable, standardised approach generates huge efficiency gains to make it a commoditised product that is affordable, repeatable, deliverable and investable on a global scale, providing cheaper and more flexible electricity to form part of a future balanced, clean energy mix.
When fully operational the Rolls-Royce SMR programme will create 40,000 regional UK jobs by 2050 and generate £54bn in economic benefit, with a forecast to target £250bn in global exports for the UK.
